Acts 24:16 So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man.

Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the LORD’s purpose that prevails.
Proverbs 19:20-21 NIV (via bananakara)

Real wisdom, God’s wisdom, begins with a holy life and is characterised by getting along with others. It is gentle and reasonable, overflowing with mercy and blessings, not hot one day and cold the next, not two-faced.
James 3:17 (via jbolst)
Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him.

2 Corinthians 5:9

This is only the fourth time I have read or seen this Scripture in the past 2 days. Not like God is trying to tell me something or anything like that…

“Pray without ceasing.”

“Pray without ceasing.”

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a] may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:16-17.

Need to make this part of my life.

“I worry, sometimes, about preachers who start off in the text but they are thinking all the time about the application instead of bringing people into the text first and then thinking through to the application.”

- D.A. Carson

I have had so many young pastors who keep saying that “you have to know the culture and the historical relevance of how the book was written before you can even preach the text.”  That phrase has never sat right with me since the Scripture is all sufficient and “…is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” (2 Timothy 3:16)  This video and these men gave me peace and joy to preach the Word and let the Scriptures speak for themselves.
